About Us
Dr.
Marilyn F. Engelman
Dr. Engelman
has been a professional special educator since 1971, with public
school and university faculty appointments. She has done research
concerning college students with learning disabilities and attention
deficits, administered a university LD support program, and
has taught at the university level in all main aspects of special
education and assessment. She provides teacher training and
in-service consultation and has a private practice specializing
in psycho-educational, neuropsychological assessments, college
advisement service, therapeutic placement, private school placement.
She has advised over 1000 students of all abilities, helping
them with college, school and special residential programs.
She has been a special educator and reading teacher. Dr. Engelman
has taught assessment and special education courses at Clark
University, Boston College, Simmons College, Tufts University
and Regis College. She is a member of the Indpendent Educational
Consulting Association (IECA), Since 1995 Certified Educational
Planner, a member of the Council of Exceptional Children (CEC),
a member of the Massachusetts Branch International Dyslexia
Association (MABIDA), and Learning Disabilities World Wide Association
(LDWWA), Council for Learning Disabilities (CLD) and CHADD.
Chaired three conferences of the New England Joint Conference
on Specific Learning Disabilities. She has also spoken at numerous
national conferences.
Dr. Eileen Antalek
Eileen
Antalek, Ed.D. is the Assistant Director of Educational Directions,
Inc. She has worked in education for 17 years. She worked with
learning disabled, culturally disadvantaged, and international
students at the college level, specializing in organization
skills, reading comprehension, and written language expression,
and served as an academic advisor to LD students. Dr. Antalek
has taught and tutored high school and college students as well,
and is a licensed school psychologist. Within her spiritual
community, Dr. Antalek has taught elementary through middle
school students and has served as the Education Director. She
recently completed research on learning disabled students and
written expression. Dr. Antalek is a member of APA, CLD, CEC,
IDA and is an associate member of IECA. She is also a member
of the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Branch of IDA
(MABIDA). She Also presented at local and national conferences.
Dr. Antalek has also presented at local and national conferences
on assessment, placement, and learning disabilities.
Linda
Kreisel
Linda Kreisel., M.A.,
has been a Learning Disabilities Specialist for over 35 years.
She has setup L.D. Programs in public school settings in Salinas,
California and Demarest, New Jersey. Since 1966, she has tutored
in both private and public school settings where she has also
conducted teacher training workshops. Ms. Kreisel's most recent
experience includes classroom teacher training, developing a
study skills curriculum for 7th and 8th grade students and tutoring
L.D. Students for 17 Years at the Rivers School of Weston, Mass.
Linda has an undergraduate degree in Special Educations and
an M.A. in Learning Disabilities from Teachers College, Columbia
University. Presently Ms. Kreisel is associated with the Hallowell
Center in Sudbury, Mass and has been a Psycho Educational Diagnostician
at Educational Directions for 10 Years.
